When you play slot games it’s a bit like travelling around the world without having to pay for a single airfare. Of course if your luck is in and you get a big win, then you can afford that airfare and travel around the world. We’ve reviewed games that feature Egypt (lots of those), America and here we’re off to India.
In the background we can see a classic Indian temple. On top of the reels are two golden cobras. Knowing how I feel about snakes, I’m just glad this is a slot game not the real thing. An Indian theme is a good one though because it can easily include beautifully dressed women and males in fantastic looking costumes, think an Indian wedding and you’ll know what I mean.
‘Golden Cobras’ has five reels, three rows of symbols and they contain a total of ten paylines. It’s your job to decide just how many of those paylines you decide to activate on each spin of the reels. It’s important you work out just how much you can afford to stake and not gamble cash you can’t afford to lose. Playing this game will cost you a maximum of £50.
The game has an attractive look to it, a big plus as far as I’m concerned. Playing games that look absolutely horrible or just haven’t had as much design work carried out on them as they could have always puts me off. The symbols here include elephants, the Taj Mahal, a well-dressed Guru with a long white beard, a basket that most likely has that cobra inside it and a beautiful looking Indian women dressed up to the nines.
The wild symbol in this game is the Guru and has the ability to replace all of the other symbols in this game with the exception of the scatter. That’s really handy and can get you plenty of winning combinations to keep the account balance ticking over nicely. The scatter symbol is the basket and they don’t just have a cobra inside but also have the ability to get you into the bonus game, more about that coming up.
To prepare yourself for the game, access the paytable and have some free games to see how everything works.
Keep an eye out for the basket scatter symbol. Three of those anywhere on the reels will get you into the bonus game in ‘Golden Cobras’ with 15 free spins. Trigger the bonus round with four baskets and you’re up to 20 free spins and five means you have 25 free spins to play with. The wild also plays a part in the bonus round. When appearing on the reels during the free spins it can multiply your winnings by anything between 3x and 25x. Just how much the multiplier is will depend on how many scatters triggered the bonus round, so if you are lucky enough to get five scatters triggering it then big wins could be on their way. With three scatters triggering the round the multiplier will be either 3x or 5x and for four it’s possibly going to be 10x.
There’s also a gamble feature in this slot. As usual this crops up when you get a winning combination in the base game. You don’t have to go ahead and take the gamble and if it’s a sizeable win you’ve just had, don’t touch the gamble feature with a bargepole. If you do go for the gamble, there’s a playing card and at least it gets in the mood for the game and has a Golden Cobra on it. Your task is to correctly guess the colour of the next card. Get it right and you double your win and can have another go. Get it wrong and that win you’ve just had is lost forever. Just be careful with this feature.
A fairly standard game from Novomatic but the bonus game can really be lucrative if you get a good number of scatters triggering it and then wilds appearing. It has a good look to it and is definitely worth playing for a while. Be careful with that gamble feature though, like an elephant never forgets, nor will you if it costs you some good wins.
