There’s a lot happening under the sea and we get to see a fair bit of it in this slot from Novomatic. This isn’t the only game of this nature that has been released but ‘Dolphins Pearl Deluxe’ certainly has a great look to it. Not only that, the slot also gives its players some excellent chances of getting some big wins and there’s never anything wrong with that.
This is the deluxe version of the game and you’ll notice that compared to the original the graphics and 3D animations are a lot better, that’s the deluxe life for you. Above the reels we have the Dolphins Pearl Deluxe logo. The reels are transparent so we can see the underwater world in all its glory with bubbles galore rising up from the sea bed which has lots of colourful plants.
This is a five-reel game that has three rows of symbols and just the ten paylines hopefully packed with winning combinations for you. That’s one additional payline from the original game. You don’t have to play all the paylines and it’s possible to vary your stake on each spin of the reels. Playing the game costs, you between £0.10 and £100, so you should have few problems finding a level that you can comfortably play at.
The symbols in the game are really well presented. I’m not quite Jacques Cousteau but I can recognise a seahorse, a flatfish and a lobster. There’s also the nine to Ace playing card symbols which is one too many in my opinion. Why have a theme and then just fill the game with a load of playing card symbols?
The wild symbol here is the dolphin, well it is his (or her) game. This can really help get you some winning combinations as it substitutes for other symbols. You’ll be really pleased when that does happen as its inclusion in a winning combination doubles that reward. Five of the wild symbols on an active payline gets you 1800x your line bet. It’s not able to sub for the pearl in an oyster scatter symbol which helps get you into the bonus game.
Before you start playing the game for a real, take the time to do some research. Reading this review will help of course but you can also look through the paytable. That’s full of useful information and then have some free games just to see how everything works once the reels start spinning.
To get a total of 15 free spins you need to be able to land three or more of the oyster/pearl scatter symbols. Now these can be anywhere on the reels and don’t need to be on an active payline. This can be a really profitable free spins round as not only are all your wins doubled but it’s possible to re-trigger them too. All that is required is three of those scatter symbols to turn up again anywhere on the reels. I’ve had that happen on more than occasion so you can really pile up the wins here.
Once you’ve had a winning combination you are presented with the opportunity to double that win. You don’t have too and if you want just forget about the offer and get on with the next spin of the reels knowing your account balance has just been increased. If you do decide to go ahead with the gamble, it’s just the usual routine of trying to correctly guess the colour of the next playing card. Will it be red or black? Get it right and your win is doubled, get it wrong and you lose all of your win. Just be wary of this because the last thing you want to do is throw away good wins.
This is an enjoyable game to play. There’s not too many differences between this and the original, just an extra payline and it looks a lot better. It’s a high volatile game so don’t get too worried if you go a decent while without a big win, it will be just around the corner. The bonus round can be profitable, especially if those free spins can be re-triggered.
