Here’s another game for all of you out there who don’t mind playing a game that only has three reels. That’s how it used to be in the old days and it’s what we get in the Novomatic game ‘Bullion Bars.’
The game is played on a 3×3 grid and definitely has the look of the old fruit machines the playing of which were always part of a trip to the local amusement arcade, pub or snooker club. Unlike those games though ‘Bullion Bars’ has a total of 20 paylines with some stacked symbols. Playing the game can cost you between £0.02 and £100 so it’s ideal for all kinds of players.
It’s another game that has the old look but adds in some of the newer features that players are so used to these days. ‘Bullion Bars’ has a red and black look to It and with some of the symbols it reminded me of a cross between a checkers board and a noughts and crosses game. The symbols are really large so you won’t be needing your glasses for this one.
The symbols aren’t the most thrilling in the world but back in the day that’s what we had. There were none of this sparkling symbols with everything from animals to pirates and a whole lot in between. We get a bar, double bar and triple bar, the Bullion bar and a star icon. They flash when you get a winning combination so hopefully you’ll see a few of those.
There’s no wild symbol in ‘Bullion Bars’ which is a little bit of a shame. There is the Bar Win streak symbol which is the scatter and helps get you into the bonus round as will be explained shortly.
All the information about how to play the game can be found in the paytable. That will have you keyed up about the winning combinations, the gamble feature and the bonus game. Also enjoy some free games and that will help you see the game in action before you start putting some real cash into it.
To get into the lucrative Bullion Streak Feature, you need to get the Bar Win Streak symbol on the centre reel. This can be triggered 27 different ways, pardon me if I don’t list each and every one of them. There’s no set amount of free spins here, you simply need to go on a winning streak. If the reels spin and you get a winning combination, then the round continues. It’ll end when you don’t get a win. The chances of you getting win after win are increased by the new set of reels that is in operation for the bonus game. There’s no chance to re-trigger the bonus round but this can be quite lucrative.
There’s also the possibility of doubling your win if you’re in a really brave mood. When you are lucky enough to get a winning combination then the chance to double it is given to you. Now if you want you can just turn the offer down and move onto the next spin having just made a profit on the last spin. If you do want to take up the gamble, then be wary of it. Your job is to guess the colour of the next card, sounds easy but you can get it wrong and as a result lose all your win.
This is one of those slot games that is a throwback to the vintage games that many of us (ok the older ones) knew and loved. Its look will bring back some good memories and the way the game plays will create new memories when you get some wins in the Bullion Streak Feature. Be careful with the Gamble Feature though as that’s an easy way of giving back hard earned wins.
