When I was a teenager many moons ago, I used to love staying up to watch the classic Hammer movies. Vampires always gave me a bit of a chill and a few nightmares followed. There won’t be any nightmares playing this excellent slot from NetEnt and it’s hopefully going to be packed with big wins for you.
From the moment, you see this game, you know that a massive amount of work has been put into its production. It looks absolutely fantastic and perfectly sets the mood for this spooky game that is a more than worthy successor to the first ‘Bloodsucker’ slot game. The reels are transparent and behind them we can see some rather demonic scenes. This reviewer is not going anywhere near that place without the light on. To the left of the reels you can see the vampiress Amelia who’s quite handy with a crossbow (isn’t being a vampiress enough for her?)
She’s back at her ancestors castle looking for hidden treasure but there’s a demon guarding it. The high definition graphics are a lot better than in the original game and then there’s Amelia herself. The animation on this character is excellent as she either beckons you to join her (not a chance) or throws some red dust into the air when a win comes along.
The game itself has a total of five reels and 25 fixed pay-lines. The maximum cost of playing this game is 0.25 and the maximum 250 so finding a level to play at shouldn’t be a problem. Setting your stake (not a word to mention around vampires) is an easy task with the necessary control buttons underneath the reels. It’s also possible to set an autoplay of between 10 and 1000 automated spins in case you need to pop off to the kitchen to get some garlic.
The symbols in this game are all high quality and the soundtrack is so spooky. Symbols here have a selection of vampire hunters who look scary enough themselves. There’s also the fearsome demon and even the playing card symbols get in the act. Rather the usual Ten to Ace, we get the suits and the Hearts, Spades, Clubs, and Diamonds all have a gothic look to them.
The wild symbol is the plaque that has wild in red (bound to be blood knowing this lot) written on it. This can substitute for other symbols to help get you some winning combinations. It can’t substitute for the scatter or bonus symbols but five of them on a pay-line will see you winning the top prize of 10000x your line bet. The scatter symbol has that rose and if you can get five of the scatter symbols anywhere on the reels, that wins you 2500x your bet.
The base game has a whole clutch of bonus games that are linked to the bonus and scatter symbols. This game is all about that search for hidden treasure and you could grab some of your own If three or more bonus symbols appear anywhere on consecutive reels. This gets you into the Hidden Treasure Bonus round and just how many bonus symbols trigger this is important. Four means all wins will be doubled and tripled If five trigger the bonus round. Your job is a cheerful one (not) as you need to choose from coffins to either get cash wins, a key, a scatter, or that dreaded demon.
If you find the key, then that takes you to the next level and if you can make it through all the levels then you win the treasure which is 1000 coins multiplied by your bet. Find three scatters and you head into the free spins round. If you’re unlucky enough at any time to reveal the demon, then that ends the bonus round.
There’s also the Scatter Shot feature and this occurs randomly and this sees an additional scatter added to the reels. That triggers the Blood Rose free spins feature where all the medium paying symbols award up to 100 coins when appearing. The random features continue with the Bonus Shot feature. This sees one extra Bonus symbol awarded on the first, second or third reels.
Three or more of the scatter symbols will see you receiving ten Blood Rose free spins. This can be very lucrative if your luck is in as all wins are tripled. Even better news is the fact that it’s possible to re-trigger those free spins and hopefully get even more tripled wins.
‘Legends Lore’ from 1×2 Gaming has several similarities with this slot. That game also has 25 pay-lines, ten free spins on offer with wins tripled and has two triggered bonus features. If you fancy being scared while spinning reels, try ‘The Vampires’ from Endorphina which again will have you trying to trigger a profitable free spins round.
This is a more than worthy successor to the Bloodsucker game. It looks fantastic, the animation is superb and it’s packed with bonus features that can get you some big wins. You just have to play this game.
