Super Gambler Roulette review

This Fixed Odds Betting Terminal game of Super Gambler Roulette can be found in UK betting shops, and combines a traditional roulette layout with some pretty interesting gambling options after an initial winning bet.

The game itself is pretty excessive, and encourages large gambling behaviour. This has been achieved through the increase in the chip values, which jump up in large amounts from an initial bet of 25p (minimum per spin is set at £1). This makes betting for example, £1.25 on a number extremely difficult, although it can be achieved through corners and columns. The progression of the chip value proceeds in the following fashion: 25p, 50p, £1, £2, £3, £5, £7, £9, £13.85.

Not many fixed odds betting roulette games feature this excessive betting behavior, although their other roulette game Key Bet Roulette does have a similar style. This is to encourage large betting, and although it doesn’t automatically mean you will lose, it does lend to the possibility that you will leave quicker, thus freeing up the machine for another player.

Super Gambler Roulette Neighbours and Gambling Options

Super Gambler Roulette also features neighbours betting, which again encourages for large betting amounts. Indeed, a few presses in the same area on the neighbours screen sees you reach the maximum betting limit of £100 pretty quickly as the accumulation of chips increases dramatically.

Like any form of gambling, the more you bet, the more you will win if you get lucky, or the more you will lose. So, the large value chips doesn’t automatically mean you will lose, and your betting balance may increase significantly if you hit a lucky streak. Even so, these machines should be approached with caution more so than others. They are purposely designed for heavy game play.

The Super Gambler feature is interesting, and features a selection of betting options all revolving around a segmented circular pattern featuring one hundred segments (like a chocolate orange). A highlighted red area within the circle is the winning area, whereas the darkened area is the lose space. The highlighted red section can be moved, shortened or increased to change the odds or the winning target position.

It’s worth noting that the odds are less than that are paid. For example a 50/50 bet will see slightly less than 50% of the circle highlighted for a winning portion. The true odds are 48% for a win, with 52% against, whilst on the 50/50 double your money bet.

The odds can be decreased to as little as one segment providing the win does not exceed the £500 per bet limit, and up to a maximum of sixty eight segments for a 33% increase in your winnings. The gamble ends when you collect, you lose, or you reach the maximum payout. Each gamble can be changed, and the return on your money will be shown on the screen each time you change the betting options. You can also part bank any winning amount, so it doesn’t have to be all or nothing.

Conclusion

The gamble is good fun, and does have some heart stopping moments, especially if you are going for the long odds. But is the gamble worth it? Just like any type of gambling, it is up to the player, but it is interesting to note that it pays slightly under the true odds. Many fixed odds betting machines feature gambles that pay the true odds via red/black gambles, and Barcrest’s Rainbow Riches pie gamble also has true odds. So the betting shops are being tight here, but short term it shouldn’t make too much of a difference.
