Back in the 1980s ‘Transformers’ was a massive hit all over the world. It wasn’t just a successful cartoon but also made an absolute fortune from all the merchandise that was sold. It’s continued to do the same again in the 21st century thanks to the massively successful movie franchise. A slot game is inevitable and this release from IGT is totally action-packed.
It’s the story of course of alien robots who have the ability to transform themselves into everyday objects. This slot version has five-reels, four rows of symbols and a total of 40 paylines. Playing the game costs between £0.40 and £500 so finding a level you can comfortably play at won’t give you any major headaches, and it will also suit the high rollers out there.
Symbols in the game are really important because they really do need to look like the robots we all know and love. They include Soundwave, Starscream, Bumblebee and Jazz. There’s also the Transformers logo further fitting in with the theme.
The wild symbol is the purple cube and it can’t transform itself into an everyday object but it can substitute for other symbols to get you wins. It can’t do that for the scatter symbol which is the Cybertron Planet symbol.
Even though this isn’t a complex game, take a good look through the paytable and game rules. That will teach you plenty about the game and really help you when starting to play it. Before putting some real cash in have some free games too to build up your experience of the game.
Now here’s a feature that has a different name here but will be instantly recognizable to you all. The Fireball Symbols is basically the tumbling reels feature that can really earn you some good wins. How does it do that? Well it starts off well because you have to get a winning combination for the process to begin. Once that’s been achieved, while you’re still smiling, the symbols that earned you that win suddenly disappear. The gap that has been left is filled by other symbols dropping down into place. That means a new-look set of reels and that’s re-evaluated to see if you have any more wins. If that’s the case, then those winning symbols do a disappearing act and the process start all over again. It’ll continue until no winning combinations are produced. A great feature for sure.
There’s also a randomly triggered bonus feature which sees a Transformer suddenly appear on screen. It then gets all destructive as those Transformers tend to do. Optimus Prime destroys all the Decepticon symbols, Megatron blows up any Autobot symbols it can see, Grimlock isn’t picky and just destroys a random number of symbols while Shockwave blows up a random pattern of symbols. There’s also Ratchet who can appear when two bonus symbols end up on the reels, this then gives you another bonus symbol and that activates the free spins round for you.
Three of the Cybertron planet symbols get you into the free spins round. These can be anywhere on the reels and once you get them there’s a big decision to make. There are some choices of what you can play with in the free spins round. You can go for Megatron which gives you just the five free spins but the multiplier is between 8x and 10x. If you want some more free spins the Optimus Prime option gives you eight of them but the multiplier drops to between 4x and 10x. Shockwave offers you 12 free spins with a multiplier that is only 3x-5x and Bumblebee sees you playing with 15 free spins but the multiplier drops to 2x-4x. The multiplier will be decided between the given parameters at the beginning of each spin.
A game worthy of the Transformers franchise. There’s plenty going on in this game and in particular the Fireball Symbols. That’s a feature that always brings a series of good wins. The bonus game is a profitable one too so this game is definitely recommended.
