It’s back to Ancient Egypt for ‘Pharoah’s Fortune’ from IGT. There’s a modern touch though with that 1980s hit single ‘Walk Like an Egyptian’ from The Bangles. That classic number one really adds to the theme and the features this game has will have you smiling too.
The Egyptian theme is further enhanced by the sight of an ancient Egyptian temple in the background to the reels. There are hieroglyphs visible on the two supporting columns to the left and right of the reels.
This is a five-reel game with three rows of columns and a total of 15 paylines. That’s a fixed amount so your key decision is simply how much to stake on each spin of the reels. You can play this game from as little as £0.15 or really go for big prizes with a £300 stake per spin. Simply bet what you can afford to lose and enjoy playing the game.
The symbols include a number of Egyptian gods and more hieroglyphs. The symbols are well designed and add to the enjoyment of the game. There’s a jolly looking sphinx and the pharaoh looks to be having fun too in his sunglasses.
The wild symbol in the game is the glowing pyramid. This can substitute for all the other symbols in the game aside from the bonus and scatter symbols. The scatter is the golden scarab beetle with the Sphinx’ head being the bonus icon, that helps you get into the bonus game.
This may not be the most complex game that IGT have produced, but don’t make the mistake of not looking through the paytable and the game rules. That will give you all the information you need about how the game works and how much the winning combinations pay. Once that knowledge is learnt have some free games and get used to how the game runs.
The control buttons are all underneath the reels and there’s no problem at all in operating the game. If you want a bit of time away from the reels set the autospin. This can give you between ten and fifty automated spins. So set those, have a break and hope when you return your account balance has seen a big jump in finances.
Keep an eye out for the Sphinx because that’s going to help get you into the free spins bonus round. You need at least three on an active payline to do this. Then you go off to a second screen which has a number of stone blocks. Your job is to pick them one by one and each block will award you either a free spin, another pick or an extra multiplier and another pick. This continues until the ‘Start Bonus Spins’ block appears.
You begin the round with three free spins and a 1x multiplier and a win is guaranteed on each free spin. You’re guaranteed at least 3x your stake. If you can get more bonus symbols on the first three reels during the free spins, then this will double the number of free spins you initially won. This free spins round is reasonably easy to trigger but don’t expect massive wins.
Another enjoyable game from IGT. It’s not the most complex of their releases but sometimes the most straightforward ones are the most enjoyable. The game looks good, the Ancient Egyptian theme always seems to work and the addition of the Bangles hit single is the icing on the cake (unless you can’t stand the track but if that’s the case just press the mute button). The bonus game is a good one, especially if you can get a few more free spins so this is definitely recommended.
