Cluedo review

Cluedo has been one of the most popular board games in the world since the 1940s. In most houses there’s a choice between the classic board game that you play. If you fancy yourself as a property magnate you used to play Monopoly. If, however, it was a good old murder mystery that you loved, then playing Cluedo ticked all the boxes.

What’s really great about this slot is that it does have the look of the board game which is really important. All the characters that you love are here and there are some great opportunities to win some big cash prizes.

The game has five-reels, three rows of symbols and a total of 15 paylines. In the background we have the house where the murder is going to be committed. Playing the game isn’t too costly and costs between £0.01 and £75.

The symbols are a real strong point of this slot. There’s Mrs White, Professor Plum, Colonel Mustard, Miss Scarlet and Reverend Green, one of whom hides a dark murderous secret. There’s also the Nine to Ace playing card symbols but in a welcome bit of news, these also fit in well with the theme. They each have one of the possible murder weapons. The Nine has the candlestick, Ten has the lead pipe, the Jack has the rope, the Queen has the spanner, for the King it’s the dagger and the Ace has the revolver.

The wild symbol in this game is the newspaper that has the murder headline news. this can substitute for other symbols in order to help you get some winning combinations. There’s also the scatter bonus symbol which is the magnifying glass and the wild cannot substitute for this. There’s also a Cluedo logo that can win you some great prizes here.

This is by no means the most complicated slot out there. In fact, I found playing this a lot easier than the actual board game it is based on. I went months at home without winning this, it’s no wonder my family never wanted to play Monopoly. Anyway, It’s a good idea to take a look through the paytable of this game and also its rules. That will give you lots of knowledge about exactly how this game is played. A few free games and you’ll be fully prepared for the battle ahead when you start using your real cash.

All the control buttons are situated below the reels so there’s no problem at all setting your stake and spinning the reels.

Bonus Features

There’s just the one bonus game here and ‘Who Won It?’ is of the free spins variety. If you can get three or more of the mystery magnifying glass symbol anywhere on the reels, then you’ll receive 15 free spins. The fact they can appear anywhere on the reels is really useful as it means you can reduce the number of paylines you activate and still have as good a chance as anyone of triggering the free spins.

As an added bonus, all the wins you get during the free spins are tripled. It’s also possible to retrigger the free spins and if your luck is really in, then that could mean a maximum of 180 free spins being won.

Conclusion

This is an entertaining enough slot game from IGT. It’s not as exciting as the board game can be at times but then again that doesn’t include great cash prizes. The bonus game is rather basic but with wins tripled there’s definitely some good prizes to be won here.
