Hole in the Wall review

The Japanese have come up with some strange game shows in the past and ‘Hole in The Wall‘ is definitely one of them. The sight of Vanessa Feltz in lycra trying to squeeze her way through a strangely shaped hole in a wall will live with us for eternity. Now Fremantle Media have produced the video slots version of the game and I reckon it’s a lot more enjoyable to play than the short-lived TV series. The graphics are superb and that starts with the introduction to the game. The symbols provide a great deal of entertainment too, especially when the contestants jump out of the reels. As you’ll read the bonus games are even better when it comes to graphics. This is a five reel game with 20 paylines and as with other TV-related games, this has the background of a television studio.

The minimum stake per spin is £0.05 if you go for the lowest stake and play just one line. The maximum bet per spin is £500 which is a fair amount to gamble so only do so if you can withstand such a loss. The symbols used in this game are a mixture of those related to the theme and just the usual Jack to Ace but they do look good in red on a black background. More suited to the theme are the red and blue team contestants, one of which is sitting on a space hopper and another holding an inflatable banana (this really was a strange game show). There’s also the Red and Blue Team logos, a Hole in the Wall logo bonus, a Wild and a Replay which simply have the wording in white on a red background. Playing ‘Hole in The Wall’ doesn’t present the player with any problem. All the control buttons are down at the bottom of the screen. This includes the paytable which is good to have a look at to ensure you fully understand the rules of the game and an autopspin that allows up to ten automatic spins. This can be played on your mobile devices as well as on your PC without the need of any download.

Bonus Features

There’s a few for you to enjoy in this game and some accompanied with excellent graphics. If you can get three or more of the Replay scatter symbols ending up anywhere on the reels, then that gets you one free spin. OK, not the most generous offer of the year you might think but the reels carry on spinning until a winning combination comes along. You’ll find this is triggered on a reasonably regular basis. The Hole in the Wall bonus is fantastic fun to play. You simply need three or more of the Hole in the Wall symbols to appear on the reels and the action begins. It really is action because this takes place on a second screen and you get to to choose one of three contestants. Once that’s done you get three games in which your chosen contestant has to somehow get through that strange shaped hole in the wall. If they manage to do so then that multiplies your win.

Of all the TV related games that Fremantle Media have produced, this is my favourite. The graphics are excellent and the Hole in The Wall bonus round is great fun to play.
