I’m not too sure exactly what dice have to do with Amazons. You never saw Wonder Woman having a quick game of craps before popping out to save the world. Well in this game from EGT, there’s no sign of Wonder Woman but there are plenty of Amazons and a fair few dice as well.
We’re heading deep into the Amazonian jungle to discover some women who you definitely wouldn’t try to make do the washing up. They remind me a bit of those in Carry on Up The Jungle and I’d probably be quivering as much as Frankie Howerd if faced with this bunch of females. The look of the game is an attractive one but with the reels being so large, there isn’t that much space left for us to see much of the jungle.
It’s dice and Amazon women that dominate the five reels in this game. There are a total of 30 pay-lines to try and win some cash on. That’s not a fixed amount so you need to use the meters on the left and right hand side of the reels to determine how many you will activate for the next spin of the reels. Setting your stake is achieved by using the shortcut buttons situated underneath the reels. All standard for EGT slot games and the minimum cost of playing this game is 0.30 and the maximum 150. A decent range whether you are just looking for some fun or want to try and win huge cash amounts.
The symbols are a mixed bunch, there’s the six dice (1-6) in a variety of colours and then the amazons themselves whose images are set on a dice. Don’t ask me why as I haven’t a clue, it’s almost as puzzling as how the word ‘dice’ doesn’t even make it into the title of this slot. There are three Amazon girl symbols
The wild symbol in this slot is the horse which has the ability to substitute for other symbols in the game (except the scatter). That’s always handy if there are two matching symbols on a pay-line and thanks to the wild you get the three. It’s even better if that wild can step in and give you four or five of a kind. Even better news is the fact that the wild can be stacked so that greatly increases your chances of getting winning combinations.
As with many EGT slot games, ‘Amazon’s Story’ has four progressive jackpots just waiting to be won. You can see how much they are worth by looking at the boxes above the reels. There’s no triggering of the progressive jackpots, the chance to win one of them (and you do get to win one of the four) comes along randomly. There are four levels and they are represented by the four playing card suits. In rising amounts of profitability, these are the clubs, diamonds, hearts, and spades. When this does crop up, a pick ‘em game takes place and whichever suit you manage to match three of, determines which progressive jackpot is yours.
It’s the axes in this game that are the scatter symbols. They are so important to the health of your account balance as they can trigger up to 30 free spins. The chances of you getting into the free spins round are enhanced by the fact, that just like the wild symbol, they are also stacked. That does mean you need more than the usual three to trigger the bonus. Here, you need between seven and nine of them on the reels.
There is also a gamble feature in ‘Amazon’s Story’ but be a bit careful with this. After you get a win in the base game, you can take a gamble and see if you can win some more cash. It’s not compulsory and you can just take the money and run if you wish. If you do go ahead with the gamble, you need to decide whether the next playing card is red or black. Get it right and double your cash, get it wrong and lose that win. It’s not as easy as it sounds and there’s the chance of getting five correct gambles but just try that with a pack of cards, not easy, is it?
If you enjoy the gameplay available in this slot, why not try out others that have several similarities? There’s the IGT game ‘Shadow of the Panther’ which also has 30 pay-lines, a free spins round and stacked wilds. There’s also the Microgaming slot ‘Jumpin’ Rabbit’ which has one triggered bonus feature and sees the main feature triggered on the same reels.
This is an entertaining slot game but in terms of gameplay, it’s not too different from several other EGT releases. The presence of a free spins round, gamble feature and progressive jackpot is rather common in EGT (try ‘Wonder Tree as well) but the use of amazons and dice is a bit strange. The soundtrack isn’t too bad and if you don’t like it, just press the mute button. This is worth a play so good luck.
